Description

Quinapril is an angiotensin II-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor that exhibits antihypertensive, anti-inflammatory, and cardioprotective activities; it is clinically used to treat hypertension and congestive heart failure. Quinapril decreases levels of aldosterone and increases excretion of Na+. In animal models, quinapril decreases activity of matrix metalloproteinase 2 (MMP2), suppressing left ventricular remodeling. Additionally, this compound decreases expression of pro-inflammatory cytokines in animal models of heart failure. TEST!!!!!!
