Description

LBH-589 (Panobinostat) is a hydroxamic acid inhibitor of class I (1, 2, 3, and 11) histone deacetylases (HDACs) that is clinically used to treat multiple myeloma and is currently in clinical trials as a potential treatment for other cancers. This compound displays anticancer chemotherapeutic and anti-metastatic activities. LBH-589 reverses the epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT), inhibits cell proliferation, invasion, and migration, and decreases tumor growth in animal models of breast cancer. In hepatocellular carcinoma cells, LBH-589 inhibits oncogenic miRNA expression and upregulates expression of APAF1 and Beclin-1. TEST!!!!!!
