Description
Peracetylated epigallocatechin-3-gallate (AcEGCG) is a close relative of epigallocatechin-3-gallate, a catechin found in green tea (Camellia sinensis). AcEGCG has a higher bioavailability than its parent compound and exhibits anti-inflammatory and anticancer chemotherapeutic activity in vitro and in vivo. AcEGCG activates ERK 1/2 signaling, inhibits acetylation of histone H3K9, and downregulates PI3K/Akt/NF-κB signaling to inhibit tumor growth in a variety of cancer-focused animal models.
