This compound is the E stereoisomer of JIB-04, an inhibitor of Jumonji family histone demethylases; it does not inhibit activity of α-ketoglutarate. JIB-04 exhibits anticancer chemotherapeutic activity, inhibiting protein translation initiation. In cancer models, JIB-04 inhibits cell viability, decreases tumor burden, and increases survival rates.
