Dermaseptin is a cationic antimicrobial peptide (AMP) that exhibits antibacterial activity against Acinetobacter and Pseudomonas. Dermaseptin increases permeability of cell membranes. Dermaseptin also exhibits anticancer chemotherapeutic and anti-angiogenic activities, inhibiting proliferation, colony formation, and capillary formation in vitro as well as tumor growth in animal models of prostate adenocarcinoma.
