Cyanopeptolins are cytotoxic serine protease inhibitors that was initially produced by species of cyanobacteria Microcystis. These peptides inhibit chymotrypsin, trypsin, plasmin, and elastase. Cyanopeptolins may also exhibit some antibacterial activity against gram positive and gram negative bacteria.
