Description

Eosin Y disodium is a tetrabromofluorescein yellow-red dye from the xanthene family that gives green fluorescence. This dye has commonly found use as a biological stain, and can also be used in determining many basic drugs by forming complexes with the acidic carboxyl group. Eosin Y has also been used in producing devices, such as electrodes, modified to facilitate electron transfer efficiency, to evaluate toxicity of 2,4-dichlorophenol to HepG2 cells. Quite interestingly, Eosin Y has demonstrated effective use as a structure directing agent in the production of flexible dye-sensitized solar cells. Eosin Y has also found use as a catalyst in the organic synthesis of tetrahydroquinolines. Non-selectively inhibits protein methyltransferase (PRMT). TEST!!!!!!
